The year 1968 was full of seismic social and political change across the globe. From the burgeoning anti-Vietnam war and civil rights movements in the US, to the protests and revolutions in European countries such as France.
Fifty years ago France was rocked by a violent student revolt demanding more liberties. Their protests snowballed as workers joined together for weeks of tumult that saw street battles and France’s biggest ever strike. Where have they gone now?
This is the second salon of the ‘HKU – Lung Yingtai Cultural Concourse’ series.
